Recommendation from the Stewardship Task Force:

Promote the “Reading in Common” book to alumni to build community among alumni with each other and to connect with current students.

Additional explanation:

The Reading in Common book is read by all incoming first-year students and discussed during Orientation. Alumni involvement may include online book forums, a virtual book club, and alumni connecting with New Student Orientation/Gustie Greeter group book discussions.

This recommendation was placed in the Lifelong Engagement Strategic Framework Substantive Category using the language:

Promote the “Reading in Common” book to alumni to build community among alumni and to connect with current students.

This recommendation was placed is Tier 1 and is being monitored by the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
