Recommendation from the Academic Programs and New Initiatives Task Force:

Provide the resources needed to support the Learning/Living initiative.

Additional explanation:

Learning/Living communities link a theme with living space on campus. To augment current non-curricular offerings would require staff to develop a new structure and program. Ideally, residence halls could be renovated or built with classrooms and tutor spaces to maximize this learning community.

This recommendation was placed in the Quality-Enhancing and Innovative Initiatives Strategic Framework Substantive Category using the language:

Provide resources to support current and new Learning and Living Communities to be an innovative and intentional means to link students’ learning in and out of the traditional classroom.

This recommendation was placed is Tier 2 and is being monitored by the Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Affairs.
