Recommendation from the Stewardship Task Force:

Review, revamp, and create new structures as needed to further develop a culture of participation in decision-making, in which supervisors look to employees for solutions and there is broad ownership in the future of Gustavus.

Additional explanation:

One result could be a “good ideas program” to ask for input and provide information that regularly asks, “What do you think would make your job/office better?” The scope of this initiative could range from utilizing a suggestion box with posted responses to print/online resources, large group meetings, and small or one-on-one meetings.

This recommendation was placed in the Personal Growth and Development Strategic Framework Substantive Category using the language:

Revamp and create new structures and policies to: provide a flexible schedule for employees; identify and utilize employees’ strengths; and further develop a culture of employee participation in decision-making and ownership in the future of Gustavus.

This recommendation was placed is Tier 1 and is being monitored by the Vice President for Finance and Treasurer.
